Introductory Task

This is my first ever blog entry and I hope that it is a good one.
Our first task as Computer Game Design students was to pair up and ask each other a set list of questions, write them down and swap pieces of paper, basically we get our own answers back and would have saved a lot more resources if we were told answer these questions, but then we don't get the opportunity to mingle with our fellow students so was a good idea, we also have the difficult task of figuring out the scratches given back to us and interpret them into words, luckily we gave them the answers so all is good.

Here are my results:
1. The title of the fictional book which I last read was Skulduggery Pleasant, quite good reading when you can't sleep on a plane and the person behind you is kicking you in the back all night.
2. The last non- fiction book that I read was Richard Hammond's autobiography detailing the events prior and after his crash.
3. The last live performance that I saw was Pendulum at Wembley Stadium for my eighteenth birthday present.
4. The last film that I saw on DVD was Bad Boys 2, as me and my friend decided to watch both one and two last night and we watched them in order, hence Bad Boys 2 being the most recent.
5. The next question was how often I read a Newspaper, and what one? In Short I don't read Newspapers only in passing.
6. This question was asking about which gallery/exhibition/museum etc I visited last, I visited Eurogamer exposition with my class during fresher’s week, as did most of my class.
7. This question was more up my street compared to Newspapers, but I suppose this is showing the level of the students intake of news compared to time playing computer games and if there is a correspondence somewhere? I don't know what correspondence but the question was how many hours a week do you spend playing computer games? My rough answer was about 20 - 25 hours a week.
8. Again this question I believe is another comparison of the student and how the media is influencing the users and how the computerized gaming and older methods of gaming are competing against one another, the question was how many hours a week do you spend playing games other than video games? Roughly I said 2 hours.

I hope this has been a successful first blog and you enjoy reading it.

  1. Concise answers! (BTW, I wonder what Richard Hammond would make of answer to question 2?)
